>>Missouri football players Terry Beckner Jr., DeSean Blair, Keyon Dilosa and Trevon Walters were injured in a car accident at the corner of College Ave. and University Dr. on Friday afternoon, according to team spokesman Chad Moller.
All four players were transported to University Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries, Moller said. Their statuses for the No. 22 Tigers' Saturday home game against Connecticut are still being assessed.<<
>>Beckner, a 6-foot-4, 300-pound true freshman, is the Tigers' backup defensive tackle. The highly touted prospect from East St. Louis, Ill., has logged four tackles and one tackle for loss over the Tigers' first two games.
Blair and Dilosa are both redshirt freshman who serve as backup wide receivers for Missouri. The 6-3, 200-pound Dilosa has three catches for 25 yards this year and the 6-3, 190-pound Blair has one catch for 21 yards.
Walters, a 5-10, 200-pound redshirt freshman running back, has been sidelined since April after undergoing surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee. Coach Gary Pinkel, who was on the scene of the accident after it happened, said Monday that the team hoped to get Walters back to playing by mid-October.<<
