Similar to you Dooley, will always support the school. We have 2 ST and we might purchase 2 additional ST's in the cheap seats for biz/promos and friends purposes. Renewed faith. MIGHT BE TIME TO TAKE A VISIT TO STORRS, (buy some hoops and hockey tickets) AND DO A FACE TO FACE WITH THE TICKET OFFICE TO UPGRADE SEATS AT THE RENT FOR NEXT YEAR>Is this a fanbase program pulse check thread? If so, let me answer this way - I gave some thought to not renewing my ST and just piecing together a season on game-by-game basis after 2014. I renewed thinking it was my duty/obligation to my school and the program I've supported over the years. Will I renew next year? Abso-friggin-lutely! In fact, I am going to ask if I can add a 3rd seat and use it as a "flex" seat to bring friends/family back to the Rent in 2016. I have definitely seen enough this year to think that next year can be very special. But there is renewed hope that this season can be fairly special too!
Agree 100%.I think it's pretty damn good and a great step in the right direction.
Yes, it's been a long, hard road to mediocrity.I'm going to say it like this: we have had tremendous progress and appear to have a strong foundation to build upon. However, winning is contagious and you want to keep winning. I am really hoping for a bowl game. That will make the season a true success because we have reached a tangible goal of making the "post season".
I can honestly say I'm looking forward to this team climbing out of mediocrity and to a team that can compete with top 25 teams. This year we climbed out from being one of the worst D-1 team to an average team
We've come a long way in the past year. There's a lot of room for improvement, but we have reason to be optimistic. We're competing. I'm looking forward to getting back to yearly bowl games starting next season.
BoatShow said:I feel like a lot of people said they'd be ecstatic with this record in July and August. Especially if we were competitive in all the games (but one). Where all my ecstatic homies at??
Ecstatic meant 7 wins,
Satisfied meant a bowl bid,
Tolerable means winning Saturday.
It's amazing how many people miss how bad you have to be to not make a bowl game. It's not the difference between finishing and not finishing the marathon, it's the difference between finishing in 8 hours and finishing in 6 hours. Neither is impressive if your existence is based on running marathons. Break four and a half and come back and see me.
You can look it up, my stance hasn't changed.
The signs are there. Maybe some of these freshmen currently playing and redshirting will be the playmakers. Currently Newsome looks like the only regular that could break a huge back breaking play.
Couldn't disagree more, but to each his own. You have to imagine how bad we were and what it takes to get back to what we were to think that this year we were going to be bowl good. We still aren't out of the equation this year. I can only imagine what Nebraska fans think these days.
I think Noel Thomas has shown some of that ability, too. Anyway, not too many teams have a lot of regularly back-breaking players.
I'm a split personality on this one. At the beginning of the season I would have been thrilled to be where we are and overall am still happy with the progress from last season. But, once the season began and I saw the defense and found offensive hope with Shirreffs, I readjusted my sights a little higher.
