So I have a couple questions about Makai Ashton-Langford and I figured who better to ask.

First, I've seen him listed on many websites as being part of the class of 2016 but others have him in 2017. Fans of his AUU team, Mass Rivals, have told me he is actually 2017. Is the 2016 just an Internet error?

Second, whichever class he is in are we looking at all. I'm told he has offers from Providence and URI as well as interest from Maryland.

Lastly, He doesn't seem to be getting much national attention but I've seen him play for Mass Rivals u16/10th grade team and most of the time he looks like the best player on the court. He's lightning quick and seems like he can dribble by anyone he wants. Reminds me alot of film I used to watch on Ryan Boatright in HS. Do you have any idea why he's not getting more national looks or expect him to rise? I know he's under-sized but I haven't really seen another major flaw.

Thanks for any info you have.

From the tweets from his AAU coach it looks like he's 2017 now. I've seen people talk about him and day that he's a big time talent for his age.

With him being so young it's not rare for their names to not be out to everyone nationally. If he truly is top 50 in his class next year and the year after that, sophomore and junior years, will be huge for him in his recruiting. He plays with Jermaine Samuels Jr. who is top 10 in 2017 so he will definitely get adequate exposure to colleges and recruiting analysts.

As of now I don't remember hearing anything between him and UConn just yet.

Thanks, appreciate you clearing up the the class situation. Makes alot more sense as to why he's not rising nationally yet.

But to your point that he plays with Jermaine Samuels Jr. I'm going to have to disagree. Samuels has spent the summer with Expressions Elite while Ashton-Langford is with Mass Rivals. I think the fact that he is being featured more now that he's not sharing the with Samuels has alot to do with how impressive he's looked.

Yup you're right. I confused some tweets between Expressions and Rivals. Each team is certainly well respected nationally and get plenty of attention from colleges so exposure should be there for him.

Yeah both teams are very good. Only reason I was sure is that the first thing that impressed about Ashton-Langford was watching him guard the 6 inch taller Samuels; and do a pretty good job of it too.
