Cori Close over Aida Barnes? UCLA short bench can deal with Cate Reese and company?

Barring some kind of major blunder, Stanford should be able to beat the winner of this game without too much trouble.

Yet another poor shooting game for McDonald. Gets her double figure scoring again but only 3-11 from the floor. Expected so much more of her as a Sr.

Anyway Arizona closing the gap, 25-22 a minute into Q3.

Osborne is scoreless on 0-7 shooting. I got on her hype train for a while but she's really faded.

50 points might win this one, maybe even less. Not exactly a showcase game for the conference. Must be more good defense. I wish there were more offenses to match in the Pac 12.

Arizona got within 1, then UCLA ran their lead out to 10. 38-28 entering Q4. Cats shooting 25%, Bruins 36%. Teams are a combined 3-19 behind the arc. Why can't anybody shoot the ball?

McDonald has 12 points on 4-16. Onyenwere has 16 on 6-14. Osborne still scoreless.

Corsaro just got double knees to the head from Reese. Accidental. Ouch.

Arizona had gotten w/in 6 but now it's back to 10. 44-34 w/ about 7 minutes left. My 50 point prediction is gonna be pretty close. Cats just cannot hit shots, 12-46. UCLA's 16-46 incrementally better. Another UGLY game.

Teams traded 3's...over a 3 minute stretch. 47-37 w/ just under 4 minutes left. Aari now 5-19. Osborne finally got on the board, 1-11 now.

Arizona w/ one last push, within 5.

UCLA is impressive to me because it’s not like they have a team of superstars yet they continue to win. Close doesn’t get enough credit for what she works with to get the results. Oneywere and Osborne are clearly their scoring leaders but everyone just plays their role perfectly.

How can you have a fast break after a made bucket? Onyenwere just went coast to coast and nobody stopped her. 51-47 47.6 sec left.

24 for Onyenwere, 22 for McDonald, neither getting much help. Nobody else in double figures.

Arizona missing 3's and UCLA hitting FTs, now up 56-47. 21.5 sec left.

McDonald ends up edging Leger-Walker for the scoring lead, so there still has never been a Fr. to lead the league as far as I'm aware. That's 3 years in a row for McDonald, not sure how many times if ever that's been done before.

Not shocked. But the horrible scoring, especially through the 1st 3 quarters was disappointing. Based on this thread, at least Arizona kept challenging. Still, the tourney will be interesting. I like our chances to make the Sweet 16, beyond that I'm not hopeful.

Close did a nice job in this game, of course it helps to have Oneywere. Against stronger teams the UofA is in trouble when Aari is forced to take over. Last night with the ball ALL the time. 2 assists, 5 turnovers.

Interesting to see which team dances the longest.
