The top 10 by percentage in the WNBA. Some interesting names:

1. Emma Meeseman .475
2. Sue Bird .450
3. Kristi Tolliver .438
4. Sugar Rogers .433
5. Elena DelleDonne .426
6. Moriah Jefferson .414
7. Briann January .409
8. Candace Parker .396
9. Penny Taylor .388
10. Maya Moore .387

Emma is an outstanding jump shooter. She may be a superstar in the making.

Sue has been a great shooter for nearly 20 years. She has 3 other seasons above .400.

Kristi is deadly with that fall-back that she perfected at Maryland. She's a big key to L.A.'s success. She's over .400 for her career.

Sugar was a volume shooter in college. As a pro, she's at a very good .370. This is her best year yet. She's a key to the Liberty's success, though Piph has returned.

EDD is a legendary shooter. Her rookie year percentage was even higher. She's never shot under .929 on FTs!!

Moriah is an outstanding shooter. Anyone who matched the great KML in college is a great shooter. I had no doubt that Mo would excel at this level.

Briann is quietly a very good shooter. She shot .431 last year and is over .370 for her career.

Candace has really improved this year after .279 last year. She has shot 101 treys this year. Her prior high was 62 in 2014.

Penny Taylor is a great shooter. She's a .381 shooter for her career. She's also at .870 for her career on FTs.

Maya is also a great shooter. She's slightly above her career average of .380. She's also a stellar .889 on FTs this year. Her career percentages from the arc and the line are nearly identical to Penny's.

Nice - Also nice to note Leilani Mitchell who has only played 6 games but is at 50% while making 1.3 per game on 2.7 attempts - a frequency that had she been playing all year would have her qualified for the ranking.

Interestingly - Sugar Rogers is only shooting 38.6 on her two point shots and Brainn January is at 38.7 so they are more accurate behind the line. Everyone else on the list shoots a bit better from 2 point range.

Emma at 2 attempts per game shoots the least 3s followed by Moriah at 2.3 and Briann at 2.6. Sugar at 6.3 attempts is followed by Kristi (5.7) Maya (5.0) Sue (4.8) and Penny (4.0) EDD (3.6) and Candace (3.3) occupy the middle ground.

TOlivers "step back" was developed at Harrisonburg H.S. (Virginia). I saw her do that in every game she played--I kept yelling at our team (I was just a fan) go up on her--they didn't and she drilled them. Her daddy coached her in AAU.
