Some of us were concerned about the relatively low shooting from the 3-point line this season. We shot .378 last season as a team, led by Kaleena's phenomenal .492.

Recent games, including last night's game, have seen an increase in the season average. Bria and Kaleena, in particular, have been shooting very well. So where do we stand now? .373 as a team.

In order, the players' percentages:

.433 Kaleena
.421 TLaw
.412 Morgan
.390 Stewie
.365 Bria
.358 Saniya
.324 Brianna
.319 Moriah
.300 Stef
.000 Polly (only 2 shots)
NA Kiah

nice to see those numbers across the board. Very impressive. Bria has been en fuego the last several games...

Bria was the main culprit in terms of being a volume 3 pt shooter in a season long slump through December - she was somewhere around .285. She has been on fire for most of January and has raised her average up to close to her career average now. Stewart was also in a slump in December but has also come on strong lately.
And the FT percentage has also risen steadily so they are now in record territory at .767 - the 2010-11 team is the current record holder at .765. We had a thread about how poorly players were shooting FTs earlier this year!

Pulido made one at the end of the SMU game didn't she? She got the home court bounce, but I thought it was a 3. And Stokes should be .000 as she has attempted a couple of three point shots this year.

It was a 2. It was miss-called and corrected by Eric.

I believe she did. It was just a few games ago. Clock was winding down and she launched from Kaleena's Corner. The announcers said it was a three attempt but whether it was or wasn't is hard to tell if you're not actually at the game.

Kiah has not attempted a 3 according to the UConn website.

In the UConnhuskies.com season stats Kiah is 0-0 on 3s. LINK

I know what shot you're talking about (out of the far corner), and her foot was on the line.

But do not forget MoJeff's contribution in the big surge, small in numbers as it may be. She was stuck down below the 30% mark earlier, but in the last 8 games she has sizzled at 7-12 for 58% and has boosted herself up to the 32% level.

I agree about Bria and Stewie. I think Kaleena's return has helped as well, including to give others more open shots.

Thanks for the info on FT shooting. I had noticed the .767 and thought it was quite good, but didn't realize it was in record territory. I think I saw that Kaleena was 8-8. I'd love to see her get more attempts.
