Spring practice is done. What is, is. Players had Jan, Feb, 1/2 of Mar to work on their bodies and learn their position. Past four weeks have been showing that to the coaches and learning how to work as positional units.
Now it's time for an honest evaluation from the coaches and looks in to the mirror by the players. They know the amount of effort they put in to get them to where they are and how much more it is going to take to get them to where they want to be.
Really liked the coaches naming the most improved players as captains for this game. Small things like that cost nothing and gain a bunch of buy-in from players.
This quote from Diaco about RJ stood out to me:
"There was so many positive things to focus on. Ron Johnson's (91 yards, 1 TD) evolution as a runner came about because of his evolution as a worker. He approaches the day differently than he did. He's just now settling in to who he is -- as a professional, mature worker. Very coachable, no excuse-making. There's big things ahead for Ron.
