Engstler’s wide-open layup at the end was the result of GT’s two defenders not being on the same page defensively. The big switched onto a guard, but GT’s guard stuck with the same player, leaving Engstler an unimpeded path to the basket. If that’s the way Walz drew it up, it was very effective.

It was the same set that led to Hailey Van Lith's shot with 35 seconds to go. In that earlier play, Hailey Van Lith cut across the lane, Engstler gave her the ball, Cubaj went with her and Hailey Van Lith hit a tough shot to tie the game. Then on the last play Engstler actually motioned to Hailey Van Lith. Cubaj again went with Hailey Van Lith and this time Engstler rolled to the basket for the wide-open layup.
