Wow, this team continues to struggle and make big mistakes. How do you get picked off 1st with 1st and third and 2 outs. Bad enough they had Fuller at 3rd with no outs and can't get him in. Need to start playing smarter.

Really like the young pitching staff they have also, but boy do they struggle with too many walks, hit batters and wild pitches. Need to work on their control because it is hurting them.

6-10. Now we have to win either the Big East regular season with 35+ win (not probable) 0r win the Big East tournament. UConn continues to struggle with a line-up that works especially in the DH and RF spots. 0-3 this weekend will be difficult to recover from. Good news (let's hope) is we play Yale on Wednesday.

The team isn't expected to be very good this year (relative to recent success). It's a building year. I'm hoping for a 4th place finish in the Big East and a good run in the tournament.

And that's the problem. To become a power - even a Northern power - they can't go through rebuilding. It needs to become a "reloading", something that is sustainable. They are competitive with the big boys right now. Even in the Big Ten (a northern conference) they have not been able to win

We will be fine. You can't immediately jump from being a decent (not good) program where we were about 5-10 years ago, to become a power. It just doesn't work like that. It takes time to develop a "name brand" program where the top prospects respect you and want to go to your school. Right now we are transitioning into being a good program but we don't have the name recognition to be able to "reload" with top 200 players nationally like the big boys down in the SEC & ACC (even BC recruits on a higher level than us) and further out West do. We have gained the respect of the nationally ranked top 500 recruits that we could only dream of touching a few seasons ago but we still have a big jump to make to get those top prospects that are even higher up... This season was going to be a rebuilding year from the very start and anyone who thought differently was fooling themselves. Be patient and just watch for improvements out of the younger players and hope that we can sneak up on some people in the Big East tournament.
