Gilbert and Gaffney with a very similar stat line. The major difference is Al's 5 steals.

Wow, look at that cluster of turnovers. I'd like to see the film and breakdown exactly what caused it. Over penetrating, rushing, and stupid passes all contributed.

At one point we were top 25 in the country in avoiding turnovers. We're now 200th.

We pretty much have 1 guy who you can consider a good ball handler. Add to that that a number of guys are average to below average passers....and you get what you have here.

Infuriating. I kept screaming at the TV "Why are you trying to pass it to the 1 guy that has 3 defenders around him!!!!"

You're not Marcus Williams, STOP trying that pass!

The guy who can't dribble, can't rebound, and can't pass is the only player not to have a turnover last night. Give Polley a lot of credit for knowing his limitations and not trying to do too much. Keep the 3's coming Tyler Phommachanh you have found your niche on this team!

I have seen so many turnovers the last 2 games the local pastry shop saw me coming in and had an apple, blueberry and cherry waiting for me.

Seriously, the turnovers are the same ones over and over. Adams throwing the ball to Carlton in the post from 25 feet away, AG dribbling into traffic, Vital dribbling into traffic, AG trying to split double teams, etc. If we were running and throwing it away I could see why but this is in the half-court.

I'm starting to think Polley has an outside chance at being a 3 and D guy in the NBA if he gets stronger and continues his dead eye shooting. Don't think he'll get drafted but outside chance of cracking a roster if he continues his progression

What can you say. Pathetic crowd, poor performance against a bad team. Nothing to like for me personally.

obviously, in coach dan's effort to work on a reliable offense formula, everybody played around the same amount of time, and they all took a similar number of shots. I make that merry go round worth about ten to's right there. keep tinkering coach, now is the time for it.

Yep...A lot of lazy passes with no mustard behind them.
I was actually surprised when I checked the box score after the game to see that Gaffney only had 4 TO's. It seemed like at least a few more watching the game.

Turnovers, not all but many, are related to the defense and Uconn's passing. Depaul showed up the dribble drive weakness. Uconn kids think one play ahead and sometimes that gets to be a problem as the play evolves.
Suffice to say there shall not be turnovers 48 or so is not the number Geno wants. He shall correct that to the extent he controls it. CW will dribble into a pack again and again. But she too shall learn to make the jumper choice first. Olivia made 4 turnover at Depaul mostly because she was multiple teamed and fouled time after time. I'm amazed at how good Olivia truly is at this stage of her development. Last year everyone was hoping she would last until the 4th quarter before she fouled out. Now she lasts 40 minutes. And scores 19. Not to count the shots she changes.

one of us, not named 'me,' appears to be in the wrong place. going out on a limb here, but 'geno,' 'she's,' and 'depaul' seem a bit off topic. missed it by that much...

I guess you never know. The NBA is always looking for shooters. Duncan Robinson went from D3 Williams, to a decent player at Michigan and now he's in the NBA and thriving as a 3 point shooter.

I hope I’m right in believing that the rash of turnovers in the last two games comes from the lay offs in between games.

I hope you're right as well, but I don't think you are. Our weakness earlier is that without enough passing CV or AG were just tossing up forced shots. That kept us away from turnovers, because the longer you possess the ball and the more passes you make the more likely you are to turn it over, but it led to ridiculously low shooting percentages and a lot of fan frustration. They have greatly reduced on the number of bad shots the two of them take, but the result of that is more passing and time with the ball searching for good shots, which increases turnovers.

Hopefully there is a balance, like we saw against Buffalo and Miami. But who knows.

More a bandit than a specialist, as I recall.

What I was trying to get at is that the two to one ratio could be turned around from turnovers to assists to assists to turnovers.

I don’t care about freshmen turnovers or mental lapses. I care about juniors and seniors who can’t dribble, protect the call, or pass to our team
