That was our average attendance across seven games. Not terrible but would like to see it at least in the 28-30k range next year.
What was it in Edsall/Spanos last season and the first two under Mora. Wondering if growth or ebb and flow? That was our average attendance across seven games. Not terrible but would like to see it at least in the 28-30k range next year.

You'll see that with more teams like NC State. The other route is we become some G5 juggernaut. Mora has done great washing away the stink that was here.I looked it up myself. Some growth which is good, I'd love to see more games attended like NC State last year. I suspect next year we'll continue to get up there.

28k average for next year would be a reasonable target based on this year's success. Recognize, however, that butts in seats is well below the reported attendances.
Next year at home (according to UConn's website):
8/30- CCSU
9/20- Ball St
10/4- FIU
11/1- UAB
11/8- Duke
11/29- UMass
Big gaps in the schedule (Home or Away)- Nothing between 10/11 at Rice and 11/1 home against UAB. Another gap between home games against Duke on 11/8 and UMass on 11/29.
As is, it's going to be tough to get much more than there was this year.
Any reason to be that condescending? I've been in the upper deck almost every game since the Rent opened. I can estimate bodies fine thank you without walking up to the top row, and know how to estimate against official numbers. It was not " well below" this year
To get a clear picture, you need to go to the top of the stadium to see and get a clear picture. And do this in the 2nd quarter, when all the people who came are actually inside and sitting in their seats before the exodus starts at halftime. It is easy to then ascertain whether the stadium is half full, 3\4 full or somewhere in between
I've been coming since opening day the first year and when it was paid attendance announced I was rarely off by more than 1,000 on my guestimating
The bigger question mark is how many of these fannies are actually paid for, which doesn't help the athletic department much when we are not getting the full revenue from the parking/ concessions
I'd say 27k-28k would be a good range for next season. I don't know who our opponents are

While the excitement of playing D1 and bring competitive pretty early on was a huge contributor, I believe the competition was also key. We were playing big East teams whose fans traveled to help fill out the place. Not nearly as many fans travel to see temple, rice, Ian, or Florida directionals. Duke and wake don’t draw at home, so they’re not bringing fans. How many came to see Cuse last year? Or BC? How many Rutgers fans would show up.The first decade after the opening of the RENT, both the lower & upper sections of the end zone (student section) were filled to capacity. Most of this was due to the associated move up to FBS status & the Huskies relative success playing an FBS schedule. Post Fiesta Bowl & really post the visit by Michigan, the football program fell into the abyss & student attendance deteriorated. The program has lost a generation of student fandom. I won't rehash the on campus-off campus stadium debate. The athletic department has to reconnect with the student population (with possible incentives). Success on the playing field hasn't yet turned the tide. Last weekend's view of the student section can't be repeated as it reinforces the refrain of those who say UConn isn't a football school.
Yeah, its not going be fun until name brands start playing here again. I get not getting slaughtered against Tennessee but not getting to play Pitt or West Virginia hurts. While the excitement of playing D1 and bring competitive pretty early on was a huge contributor, I believe the competition was also key. It’s going to be a slug playing our schedule to avg above 30. The best we can do is keep winning, play exciting games, and have players worth watching. We checked all 3 boxes this year. Can we maintain this level or even surpass it as an Indy?
