Interesting matchup. USC has started winning some games but against bad teams. I watched the tail end of USC-Utah, neither team looked good. Cougs swept a road trip at the Mountain Schools recently, I think I'd give a slight edge to WSU.

Jordan Sanders, the UC Irvine transfer, has been really good for USC.

Second straight OT game for WSU, but couldn't pull it off this time. Their stay in the top 25 is going to be VERY brief.


I didn't realize Jordyn Jenkins is back. That's a fast recovery from ACL. Good for her.

With that, the first sign of the bottom/middle of the conference being able to hang with the top half. It was hard to believe WSU was really gonna stay in 2nd place.

I never even got a chance to put them on my BY Top 25 ballot...although, I guess I still could. Nothing shameful about losing in OT on the road.

I had a sneaking feeling that this was gonna be a tough one for the Cougars of my favorite college town in eastern Washington. And that was before I knew USC would regain the services of Pili, with whom they are a completely different team.

And it won't get easier from here: their next 3 games are on the road at UCLA, Oregon and Oregon State.

Meanwhile, look for this to be only the first game where USC makes noise.
