247 Sports, Scout, and Rivals finally updated our recruiting pages. And for 247 and Scout that is without Eli Thomas and Liam Maloney being listed yet. Not a bad start - certainly light years better then where we were last year at this time. And we all know RE has a pedigree of finding diamonds in the rough, so all in all things are looking up!

The AAC is having a great recruiting year. Per Rivals:

Houston checks in at 29
South Florida - 31
SMU - 37
Temple - 48
Cincy - 51
Navy - 57
UCF - 64
Memphis - 69
East Carolina - 71
UCONN - 81
Tulane - 85
Tulsa - 93

and IMO these rankings usually carry a bias towards the p5. Nice job by the AAC schools!

UCONN has always been near the bottom in these rankings even when we were winning Big East championships. There is a regional bias imo, and beyond maybe the top 10-20 classes I just don't see the rankings as all that meaningful.

Interesting to see how different the Rivals and 247 rankings are. 247 has Cincy at the top in the AAC, but they're ranked 40th nationally.

Not where we want to be of course but better than triple digits we'd see under Diaco.

I'd say we're pretty close to where we want to be, given it's just year 1 of RE-2.0.

RE-1.0 Recruiting Rankings (per Rivals):

2004: 87
2005: 79
2006: 85
2007: 65
2008: 71
2009: 75
2010: 83

RE picking up where he left off. It's probably even more impressive given the fact that RE-1.0 was recruiting to a BCS conference, whereas RE-2.0 only has the G5 to sell.

It also looks like many of this years recruits are flying under the radar for various reasons and seem to not only have high ceilings, but more importantly have the physical characteristics that fit into the coordinators schemes, particularly defensively. Also not to be overlooked every kid seems to have a positive winning attitude and a genuine desire to be here.

HCRE has started to change the course of the Titanic. It will take time to turn things around completely.
