It's not like NW is bad at all - 19-6 overall and a better record (9-6) in the B1G than Nebraska (8-7). So the fact that NW is winning isn't the surprise, but the 29-12 halftime score has to be considered one...

the BIG10 is pathetic.... no surprise - How is a 8-7 team ranked #21 ?

the pollsters have been wrong all year

I don't necessarily agree with you BUT... You need 25 teams in the top 25. If you discount teams LIKE Maine and Albany (co-leaders of the America East conference) as well as other "top" teams in the low mid major conferences, what are you left with?

I do think that at 20-5, USF should still be ranked in the top 25. Anyway your point is well taken. Nebraska is currently 7th in the B1G, but only 3 teams ahead of them are ranked.

BTW it's 43-19 in the 2nd half. Safe to say it's likely Nebraska falls out of the top 25 next week!

Nebraska is lost without their best player Rachel Theriot who is out/injured last few games. She is their floor leader, top scorer and assist leader. They will struggle as long as she is out.

It's been kind of a recent tough stretch, with this to be the 5th loss in 8 games, the first four of which were against ranked teams. The Huskers could have a tough finish with only one pretty sure win, and two homes games against Minnesota and OSU, which will not be easy.

And someone should probably mention that there's a big nailbiter going on in the B12, but as soon as someone does the Bears will likely run off 12 straight points.

as I have said in other threads, it is a very weak year- Yes teams are in the top 25 by default.... based on previous seasons

What's the difference between a "weak year" and "talent is rising and more spread out."

Seems to meet that the number of upsets speaks to 1) younger/new coaching talent stepping up (Maine, Rhode Island, Seton Hall) 2) talent that's spread around and 3) injuries.

wait until next year when: Louisville, and Duke add guards, Baylor adds 5 good players, Tennessee adds 3 good players etc.

I did not know that. Explains why they were ranked for so long and why the slide out of the top 25 has been very slow...

Well she is done for the year. Ankle surgery.

Thanks for the info - I hadn't seen that. In fact, I didn't know it was her ankle, but I did know how badly they missed her; I saw them play Rutgers without her on the BigTen network.

Really sad to hear about Theirot. Nebraska is a top 25 team with her (they beat Duke earlier in the year), but surely not without her. That's the second (likely) first team Big10 senior guard the conference has lost this year, along with Minnesota's Banham.
