Halftime: NC State leads Pitt, 46-34. Much better defensive effort in the 2nd quarter. NC State shooting 48% for the game...Pitt hitting at a 57% clip, but was held to just 11 points in the second stanza. State was 5 of 9 from THREE...while Pitt was 3 of 5. State living at the FT line, hitting 15 of 17 shots, while Pitt was 1 of 3. NC State outrebounding Pitt 16-10 and has 8 steals. Pitt turned the ball over 10 times in the first half.

Chelsea Nelson and Ace Konig each have 11 points for the Wolfpack Women, Kiara Leslie has 9 and Kayla Ealey 7. Yacine Diop for Pitt leads all scorers with 14 points.

Pitt opened the game red hot, hitting 10 of its first 11 shots and Yacine Diop had 12 points before 5 minutes had gone by in the game.

Pitt usually plays pretty feisty at home..... at least for 2.5 to 3 quarters

End of 3rd quarter...NC State leads 61-49. Pitt climbed within 4 points on a couple of occasions. Chelsea Nelson exploded in that quarter, with 11 points to get her to 22 points for the game.

Seems like Nelson has been at State for 7-8 years

Still a long way to go in the GaTech-Miami game..... but Tech is up 17 at home. A loss would be good for Duke and you guys....

Final: NC State defeats Pitt, 77-66, improving to 22-6, 11-4 ACC and holding on to 3rd place in the ACC standings. Pitt falls to 10-18, 2-13 ACC.

Chelsea Nelson had a monster game, with 30 points, a career high, on 10 of 13 shooting, and grabbed 7 boards. Nelson was joined in double-figures by the normal supporting cast of Kiara Leslie, Ace Konig and Akela Maize, who scored 11, 11 and 15 points respectively. The Wolfpack Women shot 42.3% for the game, and converted on 28 of 33 FT attempts. NC State outrebounded Pitt 37-23 and had 11 steals.

Pitt was paced by Yacine Diop, who scored 20 points on 9 of 17 shooting, including 2 of 4 from THREE, while Jasmine Whitney and Kalista Walters added 15 for the Panthers, which shot 52.4% for the game.

NC State closes out the regular season Sunday at #5 Notre Dame. They had better come out focused defensively and not allow Notre Dame to deal a punishing blow right from the get go, as Pitt attempted to tonight. The Panthers did have a 23-14 lead at one point in the 1st quarter before NC State went on an 8-0 run to end the 1st quarter.

As it stands now @LETTERL If you guys lose to ND sunday.. and duke takes care of business..... You guys will face the UNC.Cheat/BC winner on Thursday Morning at 11am.... with the winner to face Duke at 11am on Friday morning. If you guys upset ND..... then the roles are reversed. Of course if yall upset ND, and FSU loses to GaTech..... Yall move to #3.... Duke is #4.... and FSU slips to #5.
