Points, boards and blocks from the 4/5 last night. Without DD.

Make it 23, 19 & 7 if you count Olander's contribution.

I think after the first five or six games, most of us would have signed on for that kind of production from the 3 headed monster by this time.

Frankly, we probably would've signed up for less than that. Not to mention the defense in all but neutralizing a stud like Thomas and a potential pro in Danuel House.

The 3-headed monster at the five (TO, AB, PN) had 16 points, 12 boards and 4 blocks.

If you add the four and five, you need to include Giffey (10 pts 6 rb,) who started at the four replacing DD,

We have not had many teams were we lose a DD and replace them with a Giffey.
The only player not replaceable is Bazz.
We have dominated games without RB and DD ,that's pretty amazing.

I thought about that, but Gif would have gotten his minutes regardless, and despite who he started for, he's really playing a 3, not a 4. One way or another, our interior game has improved dramatically.

Lets hope our bigs continue to play like this. You gotta give credit to our guards too for force feeding them the ball in good positions.

Kromah started at the 3. Kromah at the 3 and Giffey at the 4 was used for the majority of the game. And, yes, our inside game is definitely headed in the right direction.

Brimah/Nolan first 15 games: 25.4 mpg, 5.9 ppg, 4.4 rpg. Brimah 7.6 fouls per 40 min.
Last 6 games: 32.8 mpg, 12.7 ppg, 8.0 rpg. Brimah 5.8 fouls per 40 min.

Not mind-blowing numbers by any means but it makes all the difference in the world having those two consistently on the court and just being somewhat of a presence.

Can someone please just tell me what Niels keeps doing while boxing out to get those fouls called?

Totally a bs call and worse is they called it a shooting foul.

He stays engaged in the box out when the other guy jumps. Ends up being a push.

Why is everyone wanting to move DD to the 3 because that's his NBA position.
UConn is not in the NBA.
DD has amazing length and quickness for a college 4 ,even though he lacks the typical bulk of an NBA 4. Plus he can take it outside when he has to .
UConn length will bother a lot of teams.

4's need to rebound at both ends of the floor. Especially 4's on this team.
