John Thomas was one of the best rebounders UConn has had. Saw him play his senior year at the Fieldhouse. He had an Adama type body and great instincts. Donnie Thompson was a really good LB and was on staff during Larry Naviaux's last season. Not sure where he went after that. At the time having players in multiple sports from Bogalusa LA was quite unique.

Donnie was a teammate along with his older brother Bruce who himself was an All Yankee Conference DB in '73 (if I recollect correctly) Donnie hit HARD. (Yankee Champs that year, 8-2-1.)
