WNBA rosters will be changing as players trickle back from Europe. What I'm looking for over the next couple of weeks includes: The Dallas Wing - they begin a four-game home stand and will have an opportunity to indicate the degree to which they are evolving. Of the three bottom dwelling teams in the w Dallas would appear to have the greatest opportunity to rise to the top of the bottom. This 4 game homestand willl I think give Dallas an opportunity to provide a Denny Green moment I can actually identify with Dallas fans on two levels. During the long tenure of CTT at Arizona State University hope sprang eternal as her above average squads challenged the elite in the Pac 10/12. And there were those occasional victories over Stanford, Oregon, and Oregon State that kept the fires burning. In fact on some level I think my appreciation for Sun Devil victories surpasses the 11 Husky championships based upon the metric of frequency. And the less said about the second level the dark March through the valley of despair made me both appreciate the previous decades of Sun Devils success and prepared me now for unrelenting optimism in the Molly Miller era Wing fans I think I am part and parcel and one of you. And on that topic of despair followed by the potential for Sunshine I am looking to the Mercury. His players love him. The ownership pays him. He now approaches seven games over 500. (I believe Cheryl Reeves is 150 plus games over a 500). I would ask for equal pay for equal work if I were her. The Mercury defeated a depleted Liberty squad and are now in the midst of an extended rest before a return match against the Liberty. It doesn't appear that Jones will be available and while Sabrina will certainly be back it's unclear whether the German will be finished with her European obligations. Oddly enough early Vegas odds have the Liberty favored. The Mercury continue three out of four at home against the Aces before going on the road to take on Paige and the enigma that are the Dallas wing. That game matching the million dollar coach with the former video coordinator will prove whether or not one can actually avoid the L in Dallas. That's a game I have circled on my calendar.
