Time will tell…there seems like there is a distinct drop-off in bringing high-quality p4 lately… which tells me our piggy bank is now dry. Is what it is. FCS and D2 players generally are FCS / D2 for a reason, but there are some guys that step up nicely.

I could be very wrong, but it feels like most of the transfers we’ve been bringing in are intended to be more depth pieces rather than guys who we expect to compete for a starting spot. I get the feeling that most of our starters are already set, and now the staff is filling whatever gaps there are in depth and/or replacing those who transferred out after spring ball. We brought in quite a few impact transfers in the winter who I expect will start immediately

Some of the best players on this team were former FCS guys, and coming from an FBS school doesn’t mean jack s—. We took a transfer from Alabama who’s now struggling to play at Akron, but took an RB from Gardner-Webb who is now a 6 ypc back. Marquez Bembry, Zakhari Spears, Dajon Harrison, all guys this board was excited to have landed because they were previously at P4 schools. All of these guys either didn’t play or hardly played at all. Trust the coaches

I agree, not everything has to be a conspiracy theory. This is roster management. The good vibes I get is that they need to realistic but if a prime target of need became available they would be able shake the tree a bit more. Pure conjecture from me.
