UConn added to their defensive line again, receiving a commitment from MD DL Aubrey Melvin. Hailing from Brandywine, MD, Melvin chose the Huskies over offers from Akron, BC, Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, JMU, Kent State, Pitt, Temple, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, plus some FCS teams. He officially visited BC and West Virginia already, and was slated to visit Virginia Tech this upcoming weekend.

Seems like someone already that big and athletic can be versatile enough to develop and play under any defensive coordinator. Great get.

You always look at building up young lineman physically to prepare for the next level. With Melvin's frame that's going to happen. But I'd take advantage of his obvious quickness, speed and balance and put a lot of focus those aspects of his game. Elite pass rushers can disrupt an entire offense and it would be great to see AMB develop into that type of player. And overall speed on our defense was exposed against better competition. He looks like a guy that can help us get faster on defense and that should be a priority.
