Is this the most settled the QB depth chart has been in a decade?

Word is Evers put on some good weight, but safe to assume Fagnano was only coming back if he was the starter (and Bell coming back too)?

No word from anyone (including coaches) talking about an open battle for QB1?

Nothing has happened this fall camp to get any reporter's attention regarding QB depth chart?

No transfer, no freshman who anyone on here has even floated as jumping to the top of the depth chart?

Joe is the starter. Mora says he expects him to be a pro somewhere. You don’t say that and then make him second string. It seems pretty obvious that everyone, including Evers, knows it’s Joe’s team for now.

I’m hopeful that Evers can be developed and come back ready to go in 2026. Plus, this is UConn, do we ever get through a season with just one QB playing meaningful minutes?

Clearly Skyler Bell and TJ Sheffield (graduated last year) were much more engaged and happier with Fagnano than with Evers. I am not writing Evers off because he might have made great improvements over this off season, but this is Fagnano's team. If Evers shows he can take the reigns for 2026, fine, but if a good portal QB is available then Mora and staff should get him. By "good", I don't mean great, because the P4s will be higher on that great transfer portal QB's list.

20-4. That is the number of TDs Fagnano threw last year compared to the number of interceptions he threw last year, while being yanked and put back in the lineup multiple times. Nothing he does by way of uninspired practices is going to keep him from being the guy on opening day, and then until he doesn’t play well enough in games for Evers or anyone else to be looked at.
