Boy talk about greed. The 2025 Season Ticket Renewal deadline is December 13th, 2 weeks before Christmas. Last year I think the deadline was early March .

Just came. That's a little aggressive lol.

I don't think it is greedy at all - goal is to maximize ticket sales.

BUT - I'm not sure right before Christmas is a good time to "force" your season ticket holders into renewing. Especially as we will probably be down in Boca spending money at the bowl game on the 17th.

I'd love to understand the thought process.

Want to make sure I've gotten this straight. Me, a Rent season tix holder since 2003 (part of the mighty 600 as honored on the video board in the last home game last year) will lose the seats I've had for 21 years if I don't renew 9 months before the 2025 season. Makes sense. Wonderful way to treat your most loyal (masochistic) customers.

Is it greed or is it smart to play off the successful season the football team has been having?
Successful? You must be new to the BY. I never imagined how quiet or frustrated or unhappy folks would be with a 7-3 start.

It’s like we don’t even know our program anymore.

Capitalism: Supply vs Demand. Don’t like it, don’t buy it.

Other issue is the payment plan has you paying between now and Feb, last year payments didnt start until March. Last issue I have is parking costs $105, but at $15 per game that equals 7 home games. We only have 6 next year and are still missing a 12th game.

I could well be wrong but I seriously doubt that anyone would have any issues renewing their season tickets if they were to wait until February or March.

I don’t think this is any different than last year. I recently looked it up and I renewed in Dec of last year, as well.

Maybe. But it’s not like they are going to run out so I doubt it’s anything worth complaining about.

Casually successful. Not BY successful.

We are so valued except when we’re not.

Remember the earlier you purchase your tickets for next year the longer they have your money for other needs. The Whalers used to sell playoff tickets every year so they had that money for at least 6 months.

That's where I'm at. I'll wait for Feb/Mar whenever the window opens and renew. I hope there's more Season ticket holders next year for football and we build some momentum, but I read this email and audibly laughed as if there'd be no availability if I don't wait.

Yes, that is indeed part of the pool for NIL.
I thought it was to pay for the kids scholarships? Don't the ticket prices go to offset the rent we pay the CRDA for using Rentschler? Thought the schools can't be directly involved in NIL to athletes

If they were smart, which is historically a big if, the way to seize momentum is run a Christmas special to pick up new season ticket holders for first time buyers. Discount it 50% for the first year, 25% year 2, and 10% year 3. You just bought a cool present for your Dad, brother, whatever and the school probably locked in a long time holder if they continue to build.

A continued revenue stream throughout the year.

Is there a discount? The AD is basically setting a deadline for supporting the program, which isn't a great way to treat loyal fans IMO. Tickets are still super cheap and easy to come by for great seats including behind the glass and that isn't changing anytime soon... especially with next year's home slate.

Maybe the big12 announcement will come before that? :D
