I expect Karaban and McNeeley to go pro and Stewart to test the waters and return, hence my interest in Bundalo as an impact 4 who has the height to be a small ball / emergency deep depth 5 like Alex has. We have had great success at the 5 throwing 2 very contrasting style players at teams. Bundalo with his height and style would sort of give us that type of contrast at the 4 splitting time with classic prototypes Stewart/Abraham/Ross at the 4. Additionally, as good as he is, I would hope/expect he needs at least 2 years to get to the NBA based on his need for more strength and physical maturity to be successful at that level. That gives us some real punch at that position for a window of time. I haven't heard much about our chances with Bundalo so was thrilled to listen to the Jake W. interview where he thought UConn would get him. Jake is talking directly and often with many of the kids including Reibe, and based on his comments, seemed to have at least some direct association with Bundalo's dad who evidently has an impact personality, (did Jake say pigtails?). The comment is worth something to me on the trail of recruiting hope. I wanted either Ament or Bundalo to replace our expected front court 'pros'. I assumed we had a better chance with Ament with his close relationship with Abraham and was bummed to see his recent list. Now I'm just as pumped to be told we stand well with Bundalo. Open question to the board, has anyone heard anything more about our association with the Australian 6'4 guard Furphy who had indicated might visit us?
