Watched Flacco the other day, couldn't believe he is still in the league and producing. Delaware, right?

How often do we see our guys run away from db and run under a ball thrown in the right spot

looking for fb/track guys who ran 10.75 or faster for 100m, 6.85 for 60m

Yep, and a solid deep threat WR for our would be savior gunslinger (is Ross really the sole option?), and a solid blocking/catching TE to fill Joly's gaping hole and give said gunslinger a big target, and a solid punt returner so that we don't start deep in our end of the field every series, and a solid kicker whose potentially game-tying PATs can squeak through, and a solid LB to take up Mitchell's mantle. Not much of a list, really. Gotta start somewhere, but I'll feel better when some of these solids (jeez, I feel like the Changelings from Deep Space Nine) run onto the field for our first game next season. Merry Christmas all! ⛄

I just hope we develop him right. We had a highly rated QB from Texas a few years back. Kid was highly recruited and stuck with us through thick/thin but as we treated him like s@it as it got closer to him arriving up on campus - he bolted to become a stud at IU.

If one were to go back in The Boneyard archives you would find his father here. Claiming down payments on sky box seats and attending all home games.
This claiming to have RL committing to UConn if they did not offer Tim Boyle. Looking for QB computation Boyle was offered and Lagow ran elsewhere.

I have forgotten his story. It took him awhile to get to IU though, did it not? A year as an Oklahoma State PWO practicing with the taxi squad (to use an archaic term). Then somewhere else before IU, right? Facilitated by the Covid rule?

IIRC Lagow made it to campus, began fall camp but left after camp and before fall practice because of too much competition at his position (his stated official reason) went to OKST. Behind the scenes it was felt that he would not get a fair shake competing against the two in-state quarterbacks on the roster.

All I know is that he appeared to stick with us at one of our lowest points in our history and did not end up on playing one down. I did not know about Boyle. But Lagow did stick with us through some sh@tty times so if we signed someone one, well maybe he did what he needed to do. Either way he was outstanding at IU - Boyle seemed to blossom after he left UConn.

For the record, I think this is a great move by Cole to come to UConn. If he helps turn this team back to winning ways and he will be a folk hero and perhaps suiting up on Sundays. Or he transfers to Power 5 - makes bank. This is a great move for him and can’t wait to see him play. We need QB that can see over the line IMO and run a bit.

CHICAGO – Richard Lagow wanted to play, and with that desire came a bad attitude. He admits it. He had it at UConn, then he had it at Oklahoma State. So he transferred — for the second time in a year.

Nobody really wanted him, and he found himself at a junior college in Cisco, Texas. The story of his journey is well-traveled, but it's what happened there that may be getting Lagow where he needs to be in Bloomington.
