2023 class is wrapped up except for possible portal action.
Staff was also busy with the championship run and all of the aftermath of functions and celebrations.
They have also watched targeted players during EYBL games and are getting the offers out.

Wonder why all of a sudden all these 2024 offers?
We have 4 open scholarships for 2024 currently, and it's likely to end up at 6 so definitely gonna need to bring in a few guys now

It's just kinda the time of the cycle. It's the first NCAA "live" evaluation period of the year. Offers go out now, coaches watch the kids all summer. We used to schedule visits for the fall of the recruit's junior year like clockwork (think the ol' "Dam Break" of September 2018), but we've been doing summer visits and summer commits lately, too (Ross and Ball were last summer). So offer now, watch a few more times in June and build the relationship, then setup visits and hopefully get some commits in July through the fall.

The 2025 kids we offer will be elite, with the goal of building that relationship for a full year before the visit/commit window. (For example we've been on 2024 Betsey consistently hard for a looong time).

For sure. I was thinking what are the chances Clingan is pre season big east poy? He was z40th in the country in boards at 12 minutes a game.

Very unlikely. Kolek is coming back to school.

I think he has a chance at preseason 1st team, but preseason player of the year is a stretch. It'll go to Hopkins or Kolek

“There have been coaching changes and a lot of people moving around so I wanted to make sure I explore my options," said Sherrell. "I want to be a four but I can do anything. I can play down low, I can play on the perimeter and do everything a coach wants. I can play positionless basketball for sure.”

No mention of UConn in here.

Hurley has also usually locks up his classes relatively early so I wouldn't be surprised for a push to get 1 or 2 of the '24 guys committed before the season starts. NC has clearly moved that timeline back some but I think we can all forgive him for that

Positionless basketball comments must be music to the ears of our staff. Looks like a great got with our systems and style of play.
