I don’t think anyone doubts that with Paige we’re a favorite to return to the NC game and obviously deserve a preseason ranking of at least #2. We are clearly not that now. But almost everyone here believes in this scrappy team and thinks we’ll punch well above our weight, as they say in the fight game.

And we all know there’s lots of “if” questions that have to break our way. But with some luck, the forbearance of the injury demons, and our untested talent stepping up, many of us believe that we match up surprisingly well against the main competition we’ll have to face.

Sure, let’s wait and see, but let’s also not rain on the parade. No one is being irrational here. It’s just healthy optimism.
