That really is a stacked field. This has always been a pretty solid tournament. Im surprised we never played in it yet.

It really is curious to me, maybe it's too close so from a marketing/sales perspective Mohegan Sun wants more people staying over, so they only invite schools from a certain distance away?

I don’t know if teams would want to play UConn in Connecticut for a preseason tourney

I think we'd rather play in NYC or one of the bigger/more exotic fields. However, I bet eventually we play in it if the fields are consistently this good.

Preseason tournaments are for going to fun/exotic locations and bonding. Not taking a bus down rt 32 to Norwich.

I think the women are different. I think teams want to play UConn because of the brand and the lack of good preseason tourneys. But I could be wrong.

I think your spot on with your analysis. Losing to a top #1 or #2 in the country is worth the risk an exposure.
