Football is a much bigger sport - and the Canadian athletic foundation of Preps, Clubs, PeeWee is far more advanced than 2006 when I moved there. Friends who coached then & maintain broad contacts through the two most active provinces for us - Ontario & Quebec - say that the participation has increased dramatically. NFL is big on Sundays for young Canadian males; it is the only sport that interrupts HockeyTalk on SportsRadio 24/7. It is absolutely good strategy. We will get big linemen; we will get fast skill players (Canadian immigration from lots of global markets is robust as well); we will get kids that can throw - in inclement weather; and the skill leval and coaching is getting far better.
