Coco, et al: your phrase, "...indicates that there is something going (on) where these kids would not mind playing WCBB at the same school..." got me thinking of another take on that: Maybe the coaches are trying to get as many of the players/parents they're interested in to see how they get along with each other? One of the intents is to give an idea to the prospects on who they'll -- in effect -- be spending a lot (most?) of their time with in their four+ years at college. One can look for, then keep track of chemistry over the recruiting cycle? Two of the subjects various boards have been talking about are de-comittments and transfers. Muffet has started using the phrase "mutual interest" when describing whom she's recruiting these days. Maybe that mutual interest can also be pinpointed to/found in the team setting, not just the relationship between coach and prospect, prospect and campus. The more a prospect can get an idea of what an environment is really like, perhaps they're more likely to depend on and/or build the bonds that keep it together. There was a lot of effort put into organizing this non-official visit and I've never seen MM or Niele do this before. Don't know if that's what they were thinking, but this could be an offshoot. So many of these young women see each other in tournaments, showcases, national teams and tryouts, they know each other a bit or quite a bit. Here's a chance to see what it would be like on a constant basis in a specific place. Just a thought.
