2018 UConn Football Commit Dillion Harris headed to Lackawanna JUCO

So has anyone confirmed that this is just a fall 2017 thing and he'll be coming over this summer 2018?

I've completely divorced myself from the ridiculousness of the recruiting world. What does this mean? When is he expected on campus (if at all)?

Good question - guess it depends on why he's going the JUCO route. May be a candidate for being an early enrollee in January?

He still has his UConn Commit announcement pinned on his Twitter account so I guess that could possibly be a good sign.

I wonder if something got screwed up with his credits when he left Bloomfield

Went to Cheshire Academy...
I'm so confused.

This is why I only pay attention to kids on our current roster.

From 2016: >>Harris To Cheshire Academy - Dillon Harris, a linebacker from Bloomfield High, will attend Cheshire Academy next year and play football for coach David Dykeman. Harris, who had a team-high 14 tackles for Bloomfield in a 31-20 victory over Ansonia in the CIAC Class S championship game in December, will repeat his junior year and spend two years at Cheshire Academy. He has scholarship offers from Boston College, Maryland, Rutgers, Syracuse and Temple.<<

That doesn't help. So he was gonna repeat his junior year and spend 2 years (2016 & 2017 seasons) at Cheshire Academy. And now he's at a JUCO in 2017. Guessing he didn't repeat his junior year?

That was a June 2016 link. He was a junior @ Bloomfield in 2015 transferred to CA in 2016 and was suppose to reclassify back to a junior for 2016. 2017 was suppose to be his senior year (with a planned December 2017 graduation per reports) so I'm only guessing that there may have been a summer session or two involved? He is listed as a freshman @ LC.

So does this cost him a year of eligibility?

Don't quote me but if he spends one year there I think he should get 4 years to play 3

as a side note, lackawanna is a good friend to have. if we have a good relationship with them it means we could recruit players who don't have the grades, send them to lackawanna, and then let them come in. it has the potential to be a symbiotic relationship

Makes sense

Oh yeah, that clears it up. ;)

He completed the mandatory coloring in between the lines course at Cheshire and was able to meet their rigorous academic standards over a rainy weekend.

I like the idea of building a pipeline to Lackawanna.

Even if that is the plan, his recruitment is open. If he is good enough, plenty of others will be after him. Hope that's not what he is thinking as well.

.-.

Clarifies that it was an eligibility issue and that he is still committed to UConn Some ambiguity as to whether he will be up @ Lackawanna one year or two.

As an aside - Richie Schnyderite @StorrsCentral/Rivals does a good job getting access to the kids and is putting out decent amount of material (most premium content tho').
