Who really cares about overall athletic department though?

All we care about is Basketball + Football. Everything else is a waste of money and irrelevant when it comes to conference decisions. All that matters is that the Big East is significantly better than the AAC in M&W College Basketball

The sports that get credit for this greatly skews it in favor of warm weather locations. Can you imagine a UConn beach volleyball team?

I know all sports don’t matter in realignment. I just thought it was interesting to compare the two.

Although, warm weather has nothing to do with it. Michigan finished second behind Stanford. They don’t play hockey down south.

It’s a short paragraph, but even still your sentences are at war with each other.

There are niche markets for folks who watch Lacrosse, Soccer, Volleyball, Baseball etc.

Just like there are niche markets for HGTV and cooking shows....the beauty of streaming and conference networks is that folks who enjoy these small market shows, can enjoy them.

Some niches are bigger than others...

Yeah...World Series Final...good number for baseball.

A little less than the Maryland-PSU football game and 100,000 more than the BYU-Wisconsin game...a decent audience.

The CWS Final is a biggish niche...I watched it, of course. Regular season NCAA baseball...not so much.

But there is a growing audience for the niches like lacrosse, soccer.

I admit that Lacrosse is new to me...only been watching a few years.

Personally, I find track to be boring.

Just like I find watching NASCAR races boring..

But, that is the beauty of streaming...we tune in our personal "likes".

While I was enrolled @ SBU I watched a lot of Stony Brook lacrosse when they were actually good. But ever since that NCAA QF game vs. Virginia back in the late 2000s... they've gone downhill.

Stony Brook Baseball had a fabulous year in 2012 went it played in the College World Series. That's one of our better program at Stony Brook. I wish UConn would set up a yearly series with Stony Brook baseball. Two of the best Northeast programs. Both went to the NCAA regionals this year
