Top 10

1 Megan Walker
2 Evina Westbrook
3 Rellah Boothe
4 Chasity Patterson
5 Sidney Cooks
6 Chennedy Carter
7 Anastasia Hayes
8 Kiana Williams
9 Dana Evans
10 Michaela Onyenwere

Flashback.......

-Top 2 committed to or ended up at UConn
-3 of these are still playing. This is assuming Boothe and Williams won't be back - no idea if they will
-5 out of 10 transferred somewhere
-3 conference player of the year winners among these
-Only 1 has claimed a national title

Who ended up being the best player of this class?

I'd say Evans.

Interesting topic. I've wondered about this myself.

I believe Kiana Williams announced for the draft recently.

Out of the group, Id be in agreement about Evans. He development over her career has been impression.

Chennedy Carter is the best player from this list including college, USA basketball and professional performances = it is not even close.

she put up numbers, but her team was better without her and that's a tough thing to get around.
It is not really as tough as you are making it out to be. As you said Chennedy put up numbers. Dana Evans best season at Louisville (her Senior Year) pales in comparison to Chennedy worst season at Texas A&M. As I said this is not even close.

I would have redone it after 4 years as this

Chennedy Carter
Michaela Onyenwere
Megan Walker
Dana Evans
Evina Westbrook
Kiana Williams
Chasity Patterson
Sidney Cooks
Anastasia Hayes
Rella Boothe
I would put Evans ahead of both Onyenwere and Walker because she was twice ACC POY and the only player from this list to emerged as a true National POY contender.

It was a loaded 2017 class of guards in the state of Texas:

Chennedy Carter (Texas A&M)
Kianna Williams (Stanford)
Gabby Connally (Georgia)
Alexis Morris (Baylor -> Rutgers -> Texas A&M)
Chasity Patterson (Texas -> Kentucky)

Chennedy definitely turned out to be the best of the bunch by a long shot.

I would hardly call her performance "leading" to an NC. She led them to the FF, and then those two games she should have been led to the bench. She was not playing good.
She still has more championships than any of those other Texas guards and more championships than Megan Walker, Evina Westbrook as well as every other person in the 2017 recruits top ten. And if you think she wasn't essential to getting us to the championship game, then you haven't followed our team. Two mediocre performances don't undo the four years she contributed to getting our team into the position to win a natty.

Didi Richards at 19 probably should be a top 10 just based on her defensive play. Plus, just like Williams, was an important part of a national championship team.

Tells you how much to digest what prospect nation says. Carter at 10 , Onyenwere at 18 LOL Didi Richards couldnt hit a jump shot even in high school so confused on how she got that high . Her length and height for position is what paid off for her. She will have a hard time making a roster her first year. People like to compare Jackie Young to her but Jackie could hit a midrange jumper. We all know how she torched us in the final 4 and im sure DiDi has ever had a 30 pt game in her Baylor Career tbh .

I was one of them who compared her to Young. I thought she could guard 3's in the W, and then play point on offense. That was a couple of years ago, and I thought she would develop a jumpshot. I agree she will have a hard time making a roster without offensive skills.

I'd swap Westbrook and Williams...I dont see any clear rationale for how Westbrook has been a better collegiate player than Williams who was an AA this year and has a title.

I would also put Hayes at #7 considering her 2 break out years at MTSU. I think they were far better than anything Cooks or Patterson have done.
