I definitely think the situation in the men's game has opened the door for the committee to offer a second 4 year contract to Geno (if he wins gold.) If they do not offer to Geno (or if he passed, which I doubt he would) then I think they would look for someone who has been a coach or assistant on a previous USA basketball team - USA basketball honors loyalty in players and coaches - so I think that might hinder an offer to someone like Kim who I don't think has coached at any level with USABB.
I would expect them to look for a woman after Geno, and while I think Jen would certainly get some consideration, the issue with mid-major is as much on the coaches side - they do not tend to have the support staff in their college program to allow them to 'be away' as easily as the major college programs. The senior team is a bigger time commitment because of its four year appointment vs. the lower levels that are brought in yearly for single competitions.
I do think Geno is a 50% proposition to get a second contract - his system is very adaptable to changing players, he has worked with so many of the players before, and the players do really seem to enjoy him as their coach.
