Impressive that he is the top receiver in the state of IL and UCONN beat out these schools for his services

Those are definitely the kind of kids Diaco is after, especially when he talks about wanting to LOVE football. Hard to be great at something your heart isn't into so it definitely makes sense.

The senior wide receiver, a Connecticut recruit, is stepping in and replacing 2014 Sun-Times Player of the Year Dewayne Collins at quarterback for Phillips. “I’m ready for it,” said Skanes. “My dad was talking about it happening all offseason so I had thought about it. I wouldn’t say I’m happy about it since I’m not a quarterback, but I have to step up and do what the team needs. I have to just suck it up and play quarterback.”

I did not see stats for Skanes but he had two scoring runs, including one of 80 yards and also threw touchdown passes of 30 and 12 yards.<<
