Wonder if he'll kick and play TE? Good blocker, good hands and tough to bring down. Welcome to UConn Brett!

two 5-star recruits in the same class! Has this ever happened?

Not to diminish skills but rankings are from the individual skill academies - not usual sites (Rivals, 247, ESPN, etc...).

Yeah there is no such thing as a 5 star punter. If Ray Guy stuck his foot in Sean Landeta's rear that's good for three.

He seems like a decent route runner too. Seems like a real TE prospect on top of a punter. Wonder if he really could play both at the next level. If so, I would think the TE activity would have to be limited as they could afford to lose their punter.

He's got good size and he's athletic. He looks great as a tight end. If he's 220 now, he'll probably be 240 eventually. Could be a devastating blocker in addition to being able to catch & run with the ball. But the punting stats aren't 5 star from what I saw (36 yard avg). My son had better punting yardage this year in high school. But maybe Brett has great hang time, and I know his yardage will improve since he's big and athletic.

He won't see 1 offensive snap. He is a punter.
I suppose you are right, his TE highlights are pretty solid though. Good route runner and decent blocker. A lot more 'football athlete' than we typically see at the P position.

Those are the highlights, not all punts. But he has good form, good leg strength, and good size & athletic ability to handle bad snaps. That's pretty much what you're looking for in a punter. And given the little I've seen, up I bet he has a high football IQ (always a plus).
