As the class of 2013 recruiting came to an end, unless one of the teams current guards declares for the NBA, we are starting to see some of the staffs possible top targets.

1. SG Ahmed Hill. Elite player with tremendous scoring ability and great all around game. He's said he wants to commit by November.
2. SG Khadeen Carrington. Crafty lefty who seems to be a little under the radar right now. He really likes Ollie and UConn will be a factor.
3. SG/SF LJPeak. He's stated UConn is recruiting him hard and he wants to visit. I love his game, strong driver and can get going from 3.
4. SF Leron Black. Another elite player in 2014. He has been mentioning UConn has been going after him hard for a little while now.
5. SF Daniel Hamilton. Another elite wing. Said within the past few days UConn is after him hard. He can score in many ways with ease.
6. It still seems unknown who they are going to prioritize as bigs. Could be Abdul Malik-Abu, Paschal Chuckwu, Jaquil Taylor or others.

With a lot of the players being at the same position one early commitment could change everything.

At a minimum, it would be great to get a four to five star big and guard.
Who they will be depends upon what the player wants and whether Coach Ollie thinks they would have ten toes in.
It seems like UConn is listed by 20-30 players, so hopefully that is a good prognostic sign.

Rodney Purvis said he transferred partly to play PG somewhere else. I suspect the staff will see how he develops as a PG and go from there. If he's good they won't go after anyone. If he's not developing like they would like then they will go after one.

are we going after Hill as plan A, and carrington as plan B? Carrington seems like an OK player, but not a must get by any means...doesn't seem particularly athletic and his shot is ugly with that low release (worse than OC). I'm hoping we lock down Hill and pass on carrington

We need a bench, so lets sign both

In a 3 guard lineup they could potentially both be on the floor, Hill is a top priority but its not necessarily a case of one over the other. Don't really understand the criticism of Carrington's shot, his shooting ability is one of the best things about his game and its a regular lefty release, its not low.

Florida State, Georgia Tech, Georgia and Alabama are the main competition for JaKeenan Gant right now.

sHould be easy to recruit against them, especially if we convince hill as well.

Didn't we go hard after Trevor Lacey a couple years back, and he insisted on staying down South?

Is Carrington that good? If added him even hurts our chances with hill a little we shouldn't do it. Were after Paul White too. Think he said we were recruiting him hard.

Hill, Carrington, and Purvis seem awfully similar.

Little side note LJ Peak is leaving Whitney Young to go back to school in South Carolina.

Chukwu needs to stay home, and that's not Fairfield by the way!! LOL...........he looks like he can be a real good one!! Love what I hear.............

Hill looks great on video and love the fact he rebounds and can shoot it.........those 2 are a great start with Rodney joining the program along with Kentan, Terrence and Amidah!!

What is the attraction to another project big guy? We already have 3 or 4 of those: Nolan, Facey, Brimah, and possibly Wolf.

Taller, more athletic, fluid, explosive.
Hasheem Thabeet is not easy to reproduce. Chukwu fits the bill more than any other.
