Dispite a great deal of negativity on this board, I'm surprised I haven't heard much excitment for the 2013-14 UConn team. I hate to jump the gun on a great '12-'13 season but Ollie has proved this year that he has us moving in the right direction and with the potential to return ALL rotational players (minus Evans) for next season I could see UConn being a pre-season top-15 with a legitimate shot at another Final Four. Bazz/Boat would make the best backcourt in the nation hands down. Couple that with a middle-of-the-road post game and we could be on to something!

No way they make the final four next year. But it would we cool if they did because i am a Cowboys fan and it is in Cowboys Stadium.

I think we will be a legit contender next year, backcourt play wins out in the tournament and we have a chance to have the best backcourt in the country next year with Bazz, Boat and Omar.

I wonder if anyone said anything like this in 2010-2011? In fact, I wonder if anyone on this board said anything like this before the 2011 BET.
I hope they do but dont expect it to happen

This point of 2003, 2008 and 2010, many of us would have said no way we make the Final Four next year. In 1998, we would have expected it (whole starting five coming back off team that was already doing well). By the end of 2003, we were very optimistic, but midseason we were a lot like we are now - looked really good one game, sleepwalking the next. We did a little better in the BET, then looked great in NCAA, so we became a consensus Preseason No. 1, but the road to get there was bumpy.

In college, if you have your whole starting five back, you can expect a marked improvement. Unless your starting five stinks, then you wish you could get rid of them.

This team has a long way to go, however, anybody who thinks we have no shot of doing some damage next season is overrating the quality of teams in college basketball. I say we'll be one of 15-20 teams capable of making the Final Four just like any other year.

They "did damage" this year. No reason not to expect big things next year.

All of this is dependent on whether or not Shabazz comes back. There's a good chance he doesn't.

Very much a FF contender next year assuming we can some consistent front court play. We need contributions from Tyler, Nolan and Facey. We can play a lot of 4 with Giffey, Daniels.

IF Shabazz returns....we have.....best backcourt in the country (SN,RB) , solid wing shooter (OC), Athletic SF/PF (DeAndre Daniels), and some good big men (KF, AB, PN, TO** sometimes). And, we have role players off the bench like NG, TS and now LT who can apparently wet the 3 ball. Looks like a legit FF team to me. Significantly better than our '11 team.

Re-post: we will start next season ranked in the top ten ,with our whole team back , the best guard trio in the nation + 3-4 additions. It's hard for me to believe that Jordan Fuchs is willing to sit out next season and miss that kind of run.

Yup, no doubt. They've beaten two top ten teams, three top 25 teams, and taken Marquette, Pitt, New Mexico, and N.C. State to the wire despite being vastly under-manned up front. Of course, we've also encountered some prolonged struggles - playing three overtimes with Quinnipiac and South Florida, losing to mediocre St. Johns and Villanova teams, etc. Of course, that's to be expected, but they've still got a long way to go. This team has proven they can beat good teams - the next step is taking care of buisness against teams they should beat.

Bad Karma, there are still games left to enjoy this season. It's ten toes in this season, not one single toe into next year's!

I know but people are excited about the returning teams potential and some are still a little nervous about the programs recovery. Cut us some slack !!!

Bazz more likely to come back vs Boat Bazz plays for team and Uconn Boat plays for boat

Boat could have gone just about anywhere after the ban - he didn't sign up for this, but he stuck it out anyway. He's a true Husky.

This. I can't believe somebody could even say that. He's always in the student section giving everyone high fives and hugs after games and I'll never forget him flapping his UConn jersey at the camera after the MSU game this year. He may have bad games but I don't think anyone should question where boat's heart is...
