2014/2015 OC Schedule Question

Does anyone know whether UConn will be, if (when) successful), playing 39 or 40 games (based on the Gulf Coast Showcase)?

From Carl Adamec blog, I get 12 OC oponents:

UC Davis to open the season
Stanford 2ond game
Creighton 11-24
3 games at the Gulf Coast Showcase 11-28 to 11-30
Notre Dame 12-6
St. John's at the Garden
Depaul
UCLA possibly at Mohegan Sun
Duke
South Carolina

With the 18 conference games, is UConn done scheduling opponents (except for dates) or can there be one additional opponent? I am assuming 3 AAC championship games and 6 NCAA championship games.

Last year UConn had 13 out of conference games on its schedule. If there is one more game to be scheduled, it may be against Hartford. I think the two schools signed a three game contract, and they still have one game left to play.

IIRC, when you play in a sanctioned "Tournament" a la the Gulf Coast Showcase, the 3 games only count as one game for OOC purposes.

I believe that is true. In that case, is the tournament in Florida one of these sanctioned tournaments?

A team is allowed to either play 29 games with no qualifying multi-team event on the schedule - or else play 27 games plus one MTE that can be as many as four games. Thus this year's schedule is complete at 30 games. Last year they played 31 games because their MTE was four games instead of the three they play this year in the Gulf Coast Showcase.

Doesn't UCONN play Penn State next year? I was under the impression that the home and home series would continue.
