I have a vague recollection that Morgan Valley started many/most games of the season but then barely played in the NCAAs. Looking for confirmation or disconfirmation.

No but Diana was penciled in for 40.

Going by the stats posted above for 2003-04 (her senior year), she only started one game, so I doubt that over her career she did much different.

Uh, ok. Not sure what that has to do with a discussion about starting. Most teams have role players who start.

Ah yes, it was 02-03.
Morgan started 15 of 16 BgE games and all 3 BET games.

So for the last 20 games of the year, she started 18 of them, averaging 14 minutes.
She started 0 NCAA games, averaging 4 minutes.

Another data point showing that Geno wants upperclassmen who will lead, work hard, set screens, and be a good example on the court to start.

Freshman Barbara Turner started 1 game during the year. She started all 6 NCAA games.

I thought she also had an epic case of plantar fasciitis that caused her to miss quite a bit of playing time.

Was she the one that had a stress fracture in one foot and then as soon as she was cleared from that they found a stress fracture in the other foot?

Morgan Valley was highly regarded by Auriemma. Plantar fasciitis derailed her UConn career. I think Ashley (Crash) Valley was part of a two fer. The first and only time Auriemma has recruited siblings although I think he tried with the Samuelsons.
