With that secured, Stewart and her C-NS teammates went after Auburn, starting the game with 31 unanswered points. During that spurt, Stewart got career point no. 2,000, prompting another standing ovation from the home crowd. She is only the seventh player in Section III history to pass that plateau.

I was just talking to Eric about the 2,000-point barrier. Both Bria and Stef lost a little early in the postseason and came up just a little short. At 1,978 points, Bria missed by about 1 game. At 1,951, Stef was maybe 2 games away. Both played in New York. Out in California, I beleive that Lauren Engeln had slighly more, with a career total of about 1,990.

Saniya Chong now has 1,800+ in her career, I believe. With more than a full year to go, she could finish somewhere in the 2,500-3,000 range. Yikes!!
