Wednesday, Jan 8 against an even more pathetic Xavier team saw 13,529 fans attend a game in Hartford. It's one thing for fans to turn out in droves vs. marquee games like SoCal, ND or even a league key matchup like Creighton. It is a whole other level of fandom when people show up to watch a drubbing of two hapless teams. To me, this is partly driven by Paige Bueckers who has to lead the nation in jersey sales and the fact UConn is still relevant in Geno and CDs 40th year.
