USF has been disappointing since coming back after a long layoff. Kind of like DePaul, a
shadow of their former selves.

I'll be rooting for Jose and his troops, but I fear UCF wins this one.

I am going to try really hard to stay up for this game...but may have to end up recording it. This is one of three games (Iowa/Rutgers and Nicholls/Abilene Christian) I'm really looking forward to today. Nicholls has already advanced in the Southland tournament.

If it weren't for covid I would have tried to drive up to Fort Worth today to watch the game. Pretty annoying that the men's first round games pushed the women's championship so late.

This game is almost like the first meeting. USF is hot..UCF not so much and USF leads by 18 at the half.

I was expecting another low-scoring, defensive affair.

USF taking it to UCF in the first half. 37-19 at the half. USF has hit at least 8 threes. Similar to the game in Tampa.

The Bulls have opened up a huge can on the Knights. After looking pretty bad in all of their recent games, they sure found the mojo at a good time. But not counting out UCF just yet. They made a furious comeback in the Tampa game that just barely came up short.

Not looking good. Shocking given how the two teams were playing this week. If UCF can't close this score I hope it doesn't knock them out of the NCAA tournament as this is rough.

One of the best commentary duos in the business here — Christy Thomaskutty and Eric Frede. Both are outstanding and so underrated.

USF has widened its lead, out to 51-29 in mid-3Q. Harvey and Tsineke are both streaky but both are on tonight. Battles for UCF is shooting cold at 2-10 and is also in foul trouble, but she's back in the game with 3 fouls because it's do or die time for the Knights and they need her permitter defense.

USF's Bethy Mununga just broke Napheesa Collier's AAC tournament rebounding record.

And just like that, out of nowhere, UCF with a 10-0 run cuts the lead to 14 and forces a José timeout.

Both teams playing with lots of intensity. You think they want this one?

End of the 3rd and USF is up 12. UCF has made a run and been getting stops. Should be an exciting 10 minutes.

UCF has the defensive intensity dialed up to 11, led by Battles at the point, and they're forcing lots of USF turnovers now. José just had to call a timeout to save a possession. Lead is down to 8, plenty of time left early in 4Q.

Love games like this one. Wild swings of momentum.

The run got to 18-0 before USF hit a pair of FT.

USF finally stemmed the tide, got a couple of buckets from Tsineke to push the lead back to 10. Coach Abe used her next-to-last timeout to regroup.

UCF is getting away with mugging almost every play and the refs let them do it. It looks more like a rugby game then a basketball game.

USF wins 64-54. Can't stand the Bulls but the were the better team tonight. Hopefully that doesn't hurt UCF's tourney hopes.

That's UCF's game.

I didn't see what you saw. I thought they just played good intense trapping defense.

Great win for USF. Gotta be happy for them after playing second fiddle to UConn for so many seasons in the AAC.

I think UCF deserves an at-large bid. Will be close but I'd much rather see them get a bid than those high-on-the-hog bubble teams from the Poser 5 that play as if they're waiting to catch the next Greyhound bus out of town.

The refs were really uneven, I thought when UCF was swarming they were surprisingly lax but then UCF couldn't get any calls in the lane for a quite a while so not sure what to think there. In the end USF was the better team today.

A note for UCF is that Lewis has been one of the biggest contributors for UCF of late and she was benched for much of the second half and when she came in she couldn't do anything. She wasn't in for any of the run to close the game to within 6.
