1) switching the defense to zone in last few minutes

2) crowd noise and energy

The zone really threw off Memphis and the crowd noise only compounded their inability to attack the zone.

The home crowd really gave our players some extra energy out there. It wasn't a full house but the crowd really made itself a factor!

Was glad to be a part of it last night and I hope fans realize how important it is to show up to games and give it our all in the last two home games against SMU, Cincy, and of course the AAC tournament.

Also helped we closed out on shooters and stayed on their man. Transition defense was poor. What helped was Adams making shots and being aggressive

After the game, Coach Ollie and several of the players (Jalen, Rodney, a couple others) came over and saluted the student section. As a student fan, there's nothing more satisfying after a big win than getting a direct acknowledgement like that. Can't wait for the environments against Cincy and SMU.

The team is learning how to win again. There are still going to be bumps but games like this effect the team mentality for years.

The zone was definitely the key. Memphis was killing us all night going to the hole. We were down 8 after their last layup before Jalen hit a huge 3 to cut it to 5. It was only 2:30 minutes worth of zone but was enormous and won us the game. Also, after a poor FT shooting night, Brimah and Facey hit 4 critical ones.

Good calls out of timeouts, switching defense and having the guys play with intensity even down 17. Easily KO's best coaching game of the year, maybe the best in 3 years. Was fun to be there and be a part of that. Really proud of this team lately.

I just wanted to appreciate the effort and thank this band of brothers for putting some excitement in this strange and bizarre season we're having. Let's go for a few more and be a pain in the a** playing anyone. Nice night for the guys.

According to Elmore the crowd noise negatively affected Uconn's defense from communicating what an idiot.

Actually I've found that true as a coach, at least for HS and some AAU.

Defense needs to communicate more than offense, IMO. On defense you have to call screens, switches, blitzes, ice, rotations, shots etc. Whereas on offense, players already know what they're going to do.

Though only a moron thinks a crowd pumping up the players on the home team is a bad thing at a high major D1 level. It's certainly worth noting, Elmore just didn't say it in an intelligent way, per usual.

RP switching off on Lawton in the 2nd half - RP doesn't get enough credit for his D
That was also a huge factor
Brimah made up for all his bone head decisions in the 1st half in the last 5 minutes of the 2nd
CV was extremely instrumental in this comeback - several noticeable and some unnoticeable things he did were key
KF again faced a bad/unlucky shooting night but came up with some key rebounds and defensive plays
JA woke up at halftime and played one whale of a second half - now thats a UConn guard
GREAT WIN
