I want to say that again: 19-7, 9-5

With more to go. What a remarkable team and an enjoyable ride! Especially after last season, the defections, the APR, conference realignment bs.

Now if everyone comes back next year..........

I've really enjoyed the season a great deal as well. Also, Kevin Ollie is a gem. UConn is incredibly lucky.

This has been a very enjoyable season, and I really appreciate the effort the players gave with all the adversity and no tangible goal in sight. Life isn't fair but you have to make the most of it, and that's exactly what the coaching staff and players did. Incredible maturity by these youngsters to compete as hard as they have. That said duckk the spiteful, corrupt NCAA scumbags. Way to strip the kids with great grades of something they worked their asses off for and earned.

Or at least a BET. Thanks Big East!
Isn't the BET part of March? I was talking about both tourneys. The opportunity to continue playing -- for as many as 10 extra games.

I was expecting an awful season. From the very first game this team has been the light at the end of the tunnel for UConn athletics.

The ball movement and the speed at which guys are moving off the ball is quite remarkable compared to the Dyson era and even last year. The offensive set that ended with Boat kicking it to Neils in the corner for a 3 was marvelous.

Kevin Ollie will be a huge asset for years to come. I never imagined he would lead this well. He is also the kind of coach that other conferences may find desirable since he has the potential to keep our program an NBA factory and is very friendly. The women's program has a bunch of coaches setting up to compete for Geno's job when he retires.

Who is in line for Geno's throne?

Jen Rizzotti. She's not yet 40 and has turned UHart into a successful mid-major in the women's game.

Also, JC:KO::Geno:Jen. Both were very successful and savvy point guards.
There's others as well. But Rizzotti sure seems to have the lead right now. She never even left Hartford.

IMO, she hasn't really taken that program to whatever its next level might be. At one time I thought she would be the front-runner but she has never had a huge breakout season.

I was thinking the same thing. Aside from that, I would be concerned w/ her lack of recruiting in terms of some top notch recruits. Kind of a minimum expectation here. I know she has done well @ Hartford but it would take a great supporting staff to make the transition into Geno's seat.

That's expecting a lot. I know little about the women's game, but you can't expect someone to have that kind of success when the school's president is an idiot and a major league !

Tough to get far with the University of Hartford and that conference. She did get them to the second round of the NCAA tournament twice, beating Temple as a #11 seed and Syracuse as a #10 seed. Whatever the deal, time shall tell what happens. She has an NCAA ring as well as a WNBA ring.

Specifics? Not up to speed w/ those issues.

I recall the coach of UVM going undefeated a couple of times out of that conference and parlaying it into the BC head job. Usually with coaching, you have to move up when considered hot, which Rizzotti was a few years ago. Unless she has been told to just sit tight in Hartford and wait it out. She may not get elite recruits, but she really should be the dominant program in that league. The conference has even helped her out by holding the conference tourney there every year.

She did get other offers. She has also had success at USA Basketball levels. She chose to stay at Hartford for the sake of her young kids. She would be a very good choice to replace Geno, but others may be also.

There like my 5 and 7 year old boys; they do some stupid things some times but God I love them. It's been a good year and can't say enough about Ollie to date. He will be unbelievable in living rooms with recruits and their parents.

The end of the season is approaching too quickly. It's awful not having any March.

IDK, we had a March last year, that wasn't much fun :)

Keep in mind that Jen also coached USA team frequently. She is well respected within WCBB. Depending on when Geno leaves, I think that Chris Dailey or Shea Ralph might also be in the mix.
