#8 Bishop McNamara (Maryland) beat #4 Hamilton Heights (Tennessee) 57-54.

Lots of P5 prospects took the floor, for McNamara: Aliyah Matharu (Mississippi State), Jakia Brown-Turner (NC State), and Madison Scott (2020 top-25) and HHCA: Kamilla Cardosa (2020), Treasure Hunt (2020), and Trinity Brady (Nebraska). Esmery Martinez (Mississippi State) tore her ACL so she wasn’t playing. Lots of other good games in the Cobras United Classic.

A. Blackwell scored 37 points in her first game played this season for Whitfield high in St. Louis. Her first two scheduled games were cancelled because of bad weather.

Is Rickea Jackson gonna be Vic Schaefer's first McDAA recruit?

Yep. I personally feel Vivians should have been one, but she wasn’t. Some places had McCowan ranked in the 20s but she wasn’t one either. Also keep an eye on another signee Jayla Hemingway. She is having a good season in TN and is ranked #19 by PN. Made the Naismith watch list.

Who won the game?

Africentric won 65-60. Neither Horston nor Jackson led their team in scoring. Edison had a really, really good sophomore point guard, Damiya Hagemann.

Watched Hannah Jump and Pinewood play and defeat Ricky Woltman and Incarnate Word Academy in the lolani basketball classic in Hawaii. IWA was ranked #22 by Maxpreps and the announcer said Pinewood was unranked. It was the first time I watched Jump, who was hitting threes throughout the first half.

Top HS matchup tonight: #1 Bishop McNamara vs. #3 St. John’s.

McNamara is led by the trio of 2019s Aliyah Matharu (Miss. St) and Jakia Brown-Turner (NC State) as well as 2020 Madison Scott. Wouldn’t mind UConn taking a look at Scott!

St. John’s is led by the duo of 2019 Malu Tshitenge-Mutombo (North Carolina) and 2021 UConn target Azzi Fudd.
