South Carolina will be on a mission and out for blood after the Tennessee loss. Gamecocks by at least 10

Kentucky has underachieved a little this season. I agree, South Carolina by double digits.

A strong rebound win is definitely needed. I was a bit optimistic about Dawn Staley's press conference and the way she spoke of the team earlier this week. It should be a great game hopefully (and a double-digit win for us)! ;)

South Carolina struggles with shots right around the basket.

Nice 3 pt flurry by KY pulls the game close. SC leads only 34-30 at half.

SC blowing the game open, nice bounce back game for Zia Cooke. Boston with only 3 shots after 3 quarters ....and announcers said Dawn made comments about how they didn't look to her enough last game.

Opponents have been zoning Boston out of the offense more and more, forcing the guards to take perimeter shots or do better at passing over their length into Boston, and we've not done so well at either job. Boston only took 4 attempts all game long, but she did get 11 rebounds, 2 blocks and 2 steals, and led the team with 3 assists (team only had 10 assists all game).

Laeticia Amihere had her best game of the season, taking advantage of all the attention being given to Boston, with 12 pts, 13 rebounds, and 2 steals. Cooke had a solid offensive game with 21 pts. Henderson shot 6-12 for 14 pts. Grissett started on Senior Day and scored 13 pts with 6 rebounds. Overall, the team shot much better in the 2nd half, shooting 17-29 (58.6%) from the field and 6-6 from the charity stripe......

If we can get this kind of production from LA every game some of the attention will get off Boston. She has a different skill set from Saxton. She’s just raw but the last couple of games seem to have been a turning point for her. We definitely need her down the stretch. Sometimes forget that the 4 main girls on this team are sophomores.

Although looking at both games with Kentucky, there is a pattern:

In the first game in Lexington, UK jumped on USC and out-scored them 41-32 in the 1st half, and Howard had a strong 1st half output. In the 2nd half, adjustments were made and Howard seemed to lose steam, and the Gamecocks outscored the Wildcats 43-29 to win 75-70. The Gamecocks shot decidedly better (46.9% to 37.8%) and out-rebounded the Wildcats 46-31.

In today's game, the first half was tighter as with the first game, although this time the Gamecocks were able to maintain the lead and were leading by 10 pts 34-24 until UK scored a quick 6 pts off of two 3-ptrs to pull within 34-30 at the half. But again, the Gamecocks figured things out and pulled away in the 2nd half, out-scoring UK 42-25. This time, Howard was not able to get on track offensively and struggled all game long. But again, the Gamecocks out-shot the Wildcats substantially (43.1% to 35.1%), and out-rebounded them 49-30....

Looks like Staley made a lot of adjustments to that for this game.
