45-41 Arkansas early Q3. They should play UConn more often...

Hmm...Hogs were pulling comfortably ahead, but 9-0 run by Mizzou to start Q4 has it back down to 70-67.

Ark up 1 with 2 minutes to go. Mizzou has momentum though and is getting all the loose balls.

Slocum with a huge 3, up 4 with 33 seconds left. Might have saved Arkansas from an awful loss.

Is it weird to not be impressed with Arkansas despite their signature wins?

Can they get hot and shoot the 3 well? Sure, but when you think about it overall, they are extremely mediocre as a team outside of that.

Consistency isn't there. They remind me of Tennessee's 2017 team that was quite mediocre but also beat three Final Four teams plus Notre Dame.

Yup, my thing is I feel that system is not a consistent recipe for success. They aren't very good defensively and obviously get beat up on the boards vs teams with a decent post presence.

Unless they are shooting their way into the 80s, they don't have much to fall back on it seems.

They don't have a single good win within SEC play yet. Plus narrow wins over Mizzou the first time and Florida. Somehow get up for big OOC showdowns but not any other games?

25 for Dungee, 22 for Slocum and 17 for Ramirez. Those 3 have done their part.

edit--around 50% shooting combined too, and Slocum is 6-8 and Ramirez 5-7 behind the arc.

Slocum also had 10 assists.

85-80 final

Your defense comment brought a question to mind.

During one broadcast, I thought I heard the announcers say that Neighbours isn't involved with the defensive schemes. Is there any truth to that?

I didn't pay much attention to when they said it as I thought they were kidding.

In one broadcast I heard that he has one assistant that is like the defensive coordinator and focuses strictly on defense. A little like football where you have coordinator for offense and defense

Todd Schaefer basically runs the defense. Neighbors has acknowledged this repeatedly.

I don't get to see a lot of SEC games. The UConn / Arkansas game is the first time I've seen them all season thanks to our Cdn sports network.
