In the BE tournament, the Huskies' defense (primarily CW, but with help from all) held the top scorers on St. Johns (Correa-7 pts), Villanova (Siegrist-3 pts) and Marquette (Lott-2pts) to...a TOTAL of 12 points on 5 for 33 shooting overall (15%), and 1 for 8 from 3 (12.5%)! Those three players averaged 18.1, 23.6 and 15.2, respectively (56.9 points a game, collectively) prior to playing UConn in the BE tournament. That is a whopping 79% BELOW their collective averages. I dare anyone to find in UConn's storied history a BE tournament where a UConn team dominated the best scorers in three straight games on this level. Simply put, their best players were SHUT DOWN!!!!!! Way to go!!
