If we had lost 3 really close games on the final drive, sort of like the 3 we lost in 2009 right after Jazz Howard's death, close, hard fought games, that would be one thing. But we got clocked by Towson, clocked by a good Maryland team, and put up a fight against Michigan, but given the circumstances of that one, its hard ot know how to evaluate it. As Warde says, use your eyes. And mine tell me this is not a good football team. I think the defense will be pretty decent and will keep us in games the rest of the year, but the offense continues to suffer from DeLeone Syndrome. first and foremost the line stinks. I'm tired of trying to think of excuses. Whether its personnel or schemes or a combination I don't really know. But the next time they open a hole we ought to stop the game and hold a celebration, maybe award a game ball to the guy who holds his block. The running backs are ordinary at best and the quarterback is too. How in heaven's name did we get to this point with a former volleyball player as our #1 tight end? Somebody? Did they forget Delahunt and Griffin were graduating? We went from 2 guys who were 6-4 245-250 to a couple of guys who barely break 230, teamed with a 275 pound tackle. And we wonder why the right side of our line can't block the Little Sisters of the Poor. I shudder to think what Pasqualoni means when he says he recruits prototype players when we have a 225 pound tight end and a 275 pound right tackle...FCS teams have bigger guys than that...didn't mean for this to turn into a rant.
