They had to weather a gambling scandal and lost their hockey team anyway, Frankly hockey shouldn't be played in locales where ice can't form outside for an extended period of time, but that's a discussion for another thread. UA and ASU carry the day for Arizona. If Toronto stays on the list, it should be further down. OTOH if Montreal isn't on the list, neither should Toronto. Charlotte? Fine. Same with Buffalo and Cinci. Two team city's have it tough. They don't really have an opportunity to generate thier own revenue to be great. I am happy the Bills are staying in upstate NY though. Chicago shouldn't be on the list, regardless of how bad the White Sox are. New York is a miserable city in general, but not a terrible sports city. It's good for any league when NYC teams are good. On the flip side, it delights opposing fans to no end when they are bad. I suppose only the Steelers keeps Pittsburgh off this list, but they haven't gotten by the Wild Card round since 2017. Washington DC Makes a good case as well. Sure, the Commanders were good last season, but I've followed the football team since 1983. The Snyder years were a 25 year dark ages and the stadium is gawdawful. It's only looking up because of Jayden Daniels and a proposed (but unapproved) stadium deal. The Caps and Nats haven't won in 7 years, and who can remember when the Wizards (nay, Bullets) have been good? It's certainly a wealthy area, but with so much historical turnover and transplants, it took a then state-of-the-art ballpark, financed entirely by the city for the baseball team to stick. Another city I'd consider miserable (2024 Super Bowl, notwithstanding) is Philadelphia. Other than the Eagles, Philly teams haven't been consistent in over a decade. Finally, Why are no Florida cities on the list (or Dallas for that matter)? 1. Cleveland 2. Phoenix 3.
